How it works...

Our Get fit with Endo program is broken down into 2 separate programs:

  1. Endo Rehab Program

  2. Endo Strength Program

This structure has been designed based on the research around endometriosis and years of clinical experience. It has helped women with endometriosis just like you get back to the activities they love with less pain flare ups.

Endo Rehab Program

Endometriosis affects the body in ways that have significant impact on the musculoskeletal system, especially the muscles of the pelvic floor, the abdominals and around the pelvis. In order to get into proper exercise program we need to re training a lot of these muscles and teach them how to function properly. Without this, trying to do something as simple as squats can cause lots of pain and tightness.

Over 12 weeks we work on retraining the deep core and muscles of the pelvis through 3 phases:

  • Phase 1 - down-regulation

  • Phase 2 - connection

  • Phase 3 - integration

By the end of the 12 weeks you will be ready to jump into a program that is designed to help you achieve your fitness based goals. It feels less like rehab and more like exercise. You will have personalised management strategies in place to help you manage your health long term and feel in control of your exercise and pain.

Endo strength Program

Following the 12 week corrective program you will graduate to the strength program. 3 blocks of programming designed to increase your tolerance for exercise so you can be on your way to lifting weights, adding in high intensity training and even work on running.

Slow progressive overload is so crucial in this stage and together we design a program that gives your body the perfect amount of stimulus to create adaptations without causing flare ups.

a personalized approach to your endo management

You have pain flare ups with exercise because you haven’t worked through a movement based approach.

If you didn’t already know your pelvic floor is a big culprit in your pelvic pain symptoms. Tension in this muscle causes all sorts of symptoms and manual release alone will not resolve its tightness and associated symptoms of pelvic pain.

Corrective exercise aims to train muscles to work correctly. This goes beyond learning to relax or contract a muscle in isolation but works through an integrative movement-based approach. It aims to teach initial contraction and relaxation of muscles and then continue to train them to show up properly in all daily activities and exercise. This takes slow progression over time. It requires an exercise program that progresses in nature, moves away from manual therapy and is movement based.

If you have been seeing a women’s health physiotherapist for ongoing pelvic floor release, haven’t been given exercises beyond pelvic floor relaxation and hip stretches then you will never see improvements in your symptoms or be able to get back into exercise without pain flare ups.

You need a movement-based approach, progressing beyond restorative movement to truly change how your muscles are working. This is exactly what we do inside Get fit with Endo.

who is get fit with endo for?

Endo warriors struggling to get out of restorative movement.

Endo warriors with ongoing pelvic floor symptoms that do not ease with physiotherapy treatment.

Endo warriors who experience pain flare ups with exercise and do not know what to do.

Endo warriors who want to feel more in control of their health and fitness.

Understanding how to exercise with endo can be really hard without professional guidance.

I often hear how frustrating trying to exercise can be for women with endo. They talk about wanting to go back to the gym but they don’t know what to do that wont make their pain worse. They report feeling lost and confused about what will actually help them so they just stick to yoga and stretching. Or they continue to do what they are doing and find ways to deal with the incredible pain that comes alongside ‘just doing it’.

They want to be able to exercise like a normal person, work towards their health and fitness goals and feel like they aren’t being held back by their endo.

This completely changes for women who jump into Get fit with Endo. The goal of the program is to go from rehab to training with a tonne of education, walking out the other end with multiple strategies and ways to continue self managing exercise and endo.

You will have all the knowledge, tools and confidence to continue exercising and doing the things you love without fear of feeling lost, frustrated or scared that things could go backwards.

This program isn’t just about the exercise program, it’s about building you up to be your own personal trainer.

testimonials

I reached out to Courtenay to see if she took ‘non pregnant or post partum’ clients for improving exercise with pelvic pain due to hypertonic pelvic floor as a result of endometriosis/fibromyalgia/anxiety and she said ‘absolutely’. She asked me what my exercise goal was other than ‘improving pain’ and all I wanted to achieve was the two things I had been advised never to do by physios since I was 12 - ‘run and jump’. Over the program I was given guidance and encouragement completely virtual to work up from zero impact exercises (yoga and cycling) to doing burpees, squat jumps and running. As someone who has lived with chronic pain since early childhood, picking a goal or something that was ‘an out of bounds movement’ and working slowly and consistently towards achieving it (despite not being linear progression) provides such a sense of movement freedom.

I cannot recommend Courteny enough for her invaluable ability to provide virtual guidance and support for all your pelvic health needs.

Loved working with Court online for my endometriosis symptoms management and gym goals! I experiences a reduction in a number of symptoms including lower back pain, pelvic pain and I’ve gotten so much stronger, thanks for encouragement, support and expertise!

Couldn’t recommend Courtenay more. Her knowledge is exceptional and ability to translate this into effective strategies and programming is awesome. After being told by other health professionals that due to my endo, I might not be able to ever maintain regular or heavy strength/high intensity training, pain free, I was really disheartened. I had already spent lots of money and time trying to manage my symptoms, but nothing would stick. After a few months working with Courtenay, I’ve been able to return to regular running and strength training at high intensities and heavy weights, pain free. I have a heap of strategies I’ll continue to use daily to minimise my pain and get the most out of my training. Not a single regret from completing the program!
